It appears to be calendar season.\u00a0 Not, however, calendula season, nor colander season.\u00a0 But as I was making my snazzy and sexy 2022 fembot calendar<\/a> yesterday, I also started making one I could actually hang on my wall.\u00a0 You know, one that isn’t pornographic.<\/p>\n

And it occurred to me that I hadn’t yet made a calendar which begins on Saturday.\u00a0 Well, blimey, crikey, zounds, gadzooks and all that.\u00a0 So rather than just transfer a bunch of the images I’ve already used of classic video game consoles and 8-bit and 16-bit computers, I’ve made something a little different.<\/p>\n

This year’s calendar commemorates all those memorable, innovative, and sometimes awkward game console controllers from yesteryear.\u00a0 The twelve controllers showcased are:<\/p>\n

  1. Atari 2600 joystick<\/li>\n
  2. Intellivision controller<\/li>\n
  3. Nintendo Famicom controller<\/li>\n
  4. Nintendo Zapper light gun<\/li>\n
  5. Sega Genesis 6-button controller<\/li>\n
  6. Super Nintendo controller<\/li>\n
  7. Nintendo 64 controller (for people with three hands)<\/li>\n
  8. Sony PlayStation DualShock controller<\/li>\n
  9. Sega Dreamcast controller and VMU<\/li>\n
  10. Microsoft Xbox “Duke” controller<\/li>\n
  11. Nintendo Wii waggle wand<\/del> Wiimote and nunchuck<\/li>\n
  12. Nintendo Wii U game pad<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    It’s interesting to see how some of these basically became standards, while others were interesting diversions, missteps, or outright mistakes.\u00a0 And that’s just a small sampling of a dozen.<\/p>\n

    So here is that calendar, fit to print and hang on your wall when you want to look at old video game console controllers!<\/p>\n
