{"id":1297,"date":"2010-07-19T19:05:26","date_gmt":"2010-07-20T01:05:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/?p=1297"},"modified":"2010-07-25T15:52:38","modified_gmt":"2010-07-25T21:52:38","slug":"song-of-the-day-see-you-on-the-other-side-by-ozzy-osbourne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/?p=1297","title":{"rendered":"Song of the Day &#8211; &#8220;See You on the Other Side&#8221; &#8211; by Ozzy Osbourne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apologies, for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=u_CQcrwgFyw\" target=\"_blank\">this version<\/a> cuts out most of the guitar solo in the middle.\u00a0 But you get to watch Ozzy being his wacky self.\u00a0 But you have to put up with YouTube&#8217;s slow and crappy &#8220;flash video&#8221; drivel.\u00a0 But it comes with a free frozen yogurt which I call &#8220;Frogurt&#8221;.\u00a0 The Frogurt is also cursed.\u00a0 But it comes with your choice of toppings.\u00a0 The toppings contain potassium benzoate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/simps_frogurt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1298\" title=\"simps_frogurt\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/simps_frogurt-300x218.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/simps_frogurt-300x218.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/simps_frogurt.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThat&#8217;s bad.<\/p>\n<p>You know, that green dude has somethings in common with Ozzy.\u00a0 Long stringy hair.\u00a0 A physical age that belies years of hard living.\u00a0 A lit opium pipe.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know if Ozzy ever smoked opium.\u00a0 I would bet he has.\u00a0 I know he has literally snorted a line of ants before.\u00a0 Just ask Scott Weiland.<\/p>\n<p>But back to the song.\u00a0 This is a sad song, obviously.\u00a0 It&#8217;s about saying goodbye to someone who has just died.\u00a0 Also, it&#8217;s about dying oneself and saying goodbye to those left behind.\u00a0 It means a lot if you believe in Heaven, and not much if you don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>I was gonna write my first album review for the Ozzy album &#8220;The Ultimate Sin&#8221;.\u00a0 But that would require far too much time and patience than I have.\u00a0 I was even thinking of a rating I could give it from 0 to 10.\u00a0 3.<\/p>\n<p>I think I&#8217;ll break into the full album reviews when I don&#8217;t have a full time job.\u00a0 Because of construction on my way to and from work, I leave the house at 6:45am and get home around 6:45pm.\u00a0 And I only get paid for 8 of those hours.\u00a0 Grumble grumble.<\/p>\n<p>Are you liking the song?
