&#8220;Andromeda&#8221; by Zuckerbaby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bubblegum pop.\u00a0 By a 90s band, right here where I live in Calgary.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=m3y32q6Zfhg\" target=\"_blank\">This<\/a> was actually a fairly big radio hit in Canada.\u00a0 I bought the album, because, back then, two great songs from a band would make me buy the album.\u00a0 The other great song from these guys is called &#8220;Heavy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, why the hell not&#8230; here&#8217;s a link to &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9bQ89ZypAZI\" target=\"_blank\">Heavy<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Andromeda&#8221; reminds me of a few things.\u00a0 First of all, it reminds me of this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/lexa_doig_01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1423\" title=\"lexa_doig_01\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/lexa_doig_01-235x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/lexa_doig_01-235x300.jpg 235w, http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/lexa_doig_01.jpg 550w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 235px) 100vw, 235px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nYou can keep the spaceship.\u00a0 I just want the android.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, they remind me of a really cute and slightly plump (the way I like em) waitress who worked at a bar where I got sloppily drunk.\u00a0 She was fond of wearing a very tight white t-shirt with a little green alien logo on it.\u00a0 It made me think of how she was possibly an android constructed by aliens and sent here to Earth.\u00a0 The Zuckerbaby connection here is that apparently she knew some of the guys in the band.<\/p>\n<p>Thirdly, this song makes me think of how good this band was, and how much great music they could have made if they hadn&#8217;t decided to use all their money to get coke up their noses.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know if all of the band did this, but I heard from a reputable source (I&#8217;m actually being serious here) that a few of the members did.\u00a0 They got a grant from the Canadian government to record some music&#8230; and they used the money for coke.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/enjoy_cocaine.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1424\" title=\"enjoy_cocaine\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/enjoy_cocaine-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/enjoy_cocaine-300x300.png 300w, http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/enjoy_cocaine-150x150.png 150w, http:\/\/www.gratuitousscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/enjoy_cocaine.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nPretty damn sad, but ultimately, pop bands get old fast anyway.\u00a0 Even the Beatles only had a 7 year run.<\/p>\n<p>Now, should I talk about the song?\u00a0 Shit&#8230;
