Ah, Vegetation Day. Actually, I took yesterday off as a day of vacation, so I’ve already had a day of doing nothing. But I did stuff yesterday. In fact, I was quite busy.
Since moving back into my parents’ house, I’ve had to put up with the fact that it’s not my house and I can’t really decorate it the way I want. For the longest time, there were two old filing cabinets directly to my left from where I’m sitting now. The bottom one contained 2 drawers full of cookbooks and recipes clipped from newspapers and magazines. The top one contained 4 drawers full of crocheting yarn.
Now, I don’t have to tell you that this is not my stuff. But I will. It ain’t my stuff.
So, as a service to the cats in this house, I emptied out the yarn cabinet and hauled it up to the attic. I got a nice soft and thick towel to place folded over the bottom filing cabinet and placed a cat “stump” in front of it. And since I’ve done that, all three cats here have been extremely grateful for it.
They can now go from the stump to the top of the filing cabinet to the top of a chest freezer. I’m just wondering when the territorial fights will start.
