Nova Venus – Physical Edition

Physical media is back, baby!

With all the news of game discs and other physical media following in the footsteps of the dinosaurs, I’ve decided to buck that trend.  I’ve made CD jewel case art for my latest game Nova Venus.

Nova Venus Jewel Cases

All you need to make this set is three compact disc jewel cases (preferably the all-transparent type) and some recordable media like DVD-Rs.  Download the pdf linked above, and print it out.  I had to expand the printable size to 103% to make it fit perfectly, but your printer setup might vary.

Here’s what those fantastic disc cases look like when printed, cut, and folded into place:

A rather fine looking set, if I do say so myself.  I used ChatGPT to generate most of the artwork for these, which actually just started as a lark.  I was curious to see what a CD case cover for Nova Venus would look like, and that turned into a full set of printable CD art to make my own physical editions like this.  Here are the images I used, including some screenshots that went into making the back.

That’s the main game, but Nova Venus contains two entire games within a game.  The Secret of Lycoris Manor is a vampire-themed gothic horror JRPG, and here are the artwork and screenshots I used to make its CD jewel case:

And of course I can’t forget the most purely fun game of the three, The Forever Endeavor.  If you like classic JRPG goodness, you will love being able to play this JRPG from inside the world of Nova Venus.

So feel free to distribute this PDF and game art if you share Nova Venus.  Print out your own physical edition media of my epic new game to festoon your own gaming room shelf.

Lastly, I’d like to update the diagram I made last year which shows the range of styles my games have, from most open-ended to most linear:
